These socks are thicker than average to give you more cushioning when walking or hiking. They're made from 65% polyester and just 12% wool, yet they're warm and comfortable whether you're wearing shoes or not. I wore them several times in the office and also in the house when it got a bit cold outside. They keep my feet warm and comfortable. I wear US size 9.5 shoes and they fit great, not too tight or loose.
