I have upgraded this to 4* based on suppliers' responses to questions. The instructions/app issue mentioned later is still true. The problem with the internet connection is not related to the devices, it is related to our rustic crappy 3 Mbps ISP. The internet extender we need to use starts up about 3 times faster than the modem provided by the ISP, which has a very limited range of about 50 feet. All in all the Govee Smart Plug is way smarter than our ISP and a great buy! As with most products these days, app updates are performed according to the correct written instructions. It says that you need to open the application, press the + icon and select your device. (Of course it won't show up, so you'll have to look for the device number.) Once it connects to the internet, you'll need to create an account. When that's done, you'll notice that Alexa should now be looking in the Alexa app. The author of the guide does not understand that many of us must have what is written in accordance with how everything really works!
