🏠 Govee WiFi Outlet: Smart and Efficient Home Automation Solution Review

Worked great once set up. A click can be heard when the power is turned off. Easy control via app and on/off timer. I have used other Govee products such as LED bulbs and strips and so far have been generally impressed. the exact location in the privacy settings, otherwise the installation will fail.

Pay close attention to the ad text. If you are connected to a Wi-Fi internet router and it is set to 2.4GHz, this product will not work. Now I'm trying to get my money back. It disables the Wi-Fi internet connection and then says it can't set up Govee because you don't have an internet connection. ok ok But even my Verizon hotspot runs at 2.4 GHz. what now? No wonder it was on sale.

I was hoping this would work the same as my temp/humidity sensor on my boat which uses the wifi at the dock. I can access the temperature sensor from my house at any time, but this electrical switch is unreliable. If it disconnects I have to travel 10 miles to reconnect it to the Marina network. Worked one day, then switched off again. Looks like I'll have to choose a different brand with a completely separate control app.

I've been using them for about 2 months now. Setup was easy and they integrated well with our Revain Echo Show and Dots. So far no problems in terms of performance. My only complaint right now is the size/shape of the actual plugs. They are not small or inconspicuous. The current diameter and round shape reaches almost to another outlet, making it impossible to use with another large plug. It even fitted nicely next to a standard grounded plug. Bought 4 pieces to connect to 2 different wifi networks. Connected without much difficulty. All of these devices use the 2.4 GHz frequency. Unlike most brands, this involves a little more manual setup (ie exiting the Govee app, connecting to the device's WiFi, and then back into the app), but it's not difficult. I have upgraded this to 4* based on suppliers' responses to questions. The instructions/app issue mentioned later is still true. The problem with the internet connection is not related to the devices, it is related to our rustic crappy 3 Mbps ISP. The internet extender we need to use starts up about 3 times faster than the modem provided by the ISP, which has a very limited range of about 50 feet. Govee plugs are fine if they work. You do what I need. Android app can work with plugs and water leak detectors. I haven't tried any fancy programming - just on/off. And this is where I run into problems. Govee plugs often lose connection with the base unit and won't reconnect until I turn them off. Revain sells their WiFi plug for $25 and in this one you get 4 for $25. So of course I drove it. Came in a box, there is little space inside, not superfluous. It took me a while to set them up as the Gouwi has two different exits. Wi-Fi plug (this one) and smart plug.
