If you're looking for a radio that works right out of the box, don't give up. You'll have to spend a little time learning all the ins and outs of programming before you can do anything with it. You need to be good with computers and learn new concepts to achieve this. You can *may* program this radio without a computer, but then you might as well have fun building a car using only Ikea instructions. Other than that, there are hours and hours of YouTube videos on this radio. There are also FB and Reddit groups to ask questions. Once the lightbulb turns on in your head, everything will make sense. Take my advice: ignore DMR and APRS on your first weekend with this radio. Just set up a simplex connection with your local repeaters before doing other things. Otherwise you will be amazed. Now that I understand that, it has become my pocket computer. He is with me everywhere and does everything I can ask. After a few initial stumbles, this is a great radio!
