I confess I'm not a fan of Kitchen Aid mixers. For years I've preferred my Sunbeam Mix Master because I didn't have to turn off the mixer to empty the bowl. When my sweet wife surprised me with a beautiful yellow kitchen gadget, I resigned myself to turning off the blender, lowering the bowl, scraping the sides, raising the bowl, and turning the blender back on. I got this accessory because of the scraper on the paddle to save me from this ordeal. Well it works! I've made cookies and cakes and it works great for both types of dough and the dogleg design keeps ingredients from settling around the rim at the bottom of the bowl. It says it's dishwasher safe, but I hand wash it to avoid warping the silicone or anything else that makes the scraper look like part of a paddle. Whether this is reliable remains to be seen. I paid very close attention to model type and number as there are several listings for this type of paddle and not all will fit as they are not necessarily Kitchen Aid original parts. So be sure to stop by so you won't be disappointed. I am very happy with this purchase.
