This connector was just what I needed as I only have a VGA monitor and don't want to spend money on a new USB-C monitor. My new Lenovo only has a USB-C port, so I had to use an adapter to use the extra screen. The problem with most adapters I've tried, where the monitor is plugged into one port and the computer into another on the same device, is that when using video calls like zoom, for some reason it wasn't seamless, because my computer was hung. That solved the problem! Apparently I needed a direct connection from the computer to the monitor and not an intermediate adapter. If you're thinking of swapping out your monitor to make it compatible, try it first!
