Review on 🎨 The Sketching Set with Assorted Sketching Pencils - Available at Conté in Paris by Michelle Langley

First of all, there are pencils in this set that are good at drawing, but there were some problems. I'd say it's closer to a 3.5, but figured a rounding would be appropriate. Physically the box is nice and the pens look good. The problem I found was twofold. First of all, the two softest pencils were broken when they arrived. When I sharpened them (with a sharpener or a knife) they kept breaking as if the lead in the barrel had been damaged. Don't know if it's shipping damage or general quality but it wasn't the best experience. Also, some pencils had knots and cracks in the wood when sharpening, making sharpening difficult. When used, the pens leave pleasant marks and behave as I was told. Pierre noire are very dark but not dusty. Charcoal pencils are also applicable compared to other charcoal pencils I've used. Charcoal pencils also make beautiful dark lines. Sepia and sanguine pencils have a very pleasant tone and are suitable for the rest. All in all, they're a complete monochrome set that includes dark blacks, earth tones, and whites. Overall the set is good enough, but the quality of the wood and core (whether in transit or not) holds it back. In between I think you get a decent set for a monochrome sketch, but unfortunately I have doubts about the quality. Sepia and sanguine pencils have a very pleasant tone and are suitable for the rest.
