If you don't put on a lid with a hole - just right so that the curve of the spout matches the curved lid exactly - it won't start. What's so good about that? I never accidentally spray the ceiling and walls of a smoothie. So take it, you will love it. If it won't start, adjust the cap and it will start. It has plenty of room for smoothies, unlike some others which are a bit restrictive. It turns frozen strawberry slices with a scoop of protein powder and some confectioners and monfruit into smooth, guilt-free strawberry ice cream in under 2 minutes.
