Review on OLYTARU Enamel Teapot Floral - Large Porcelain Enameled Teakettle in Style01 Green: Colorful Water Tea Kettle Pot for Stovetop with Small Retro Classic Design by Jenny Maestas

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Inexpensively manufactured on Cookware

I just received this teapot and was quickly disappointed. My first impression was that it looked a bit cheap and the pattern was applied poorly, you can see some imperfections in the attached photos (the pattern is uneven and overlapping, there are dents, etc.). As these are cosmetic issues I was willing to ignore them as overall it still looks pretty good although I was concerned about the chances of chipping and chipping. Other minor issues were how loose the lid was and how the handles were cheap white plastic that didn't seem to hold up very well to the heat. The decisive factor for me, however, was the defects in the enamel on the nose. Where the spout joins the body of the kettle, the enamel does not cover the seam and appears to have chipped upwards in some places (due to the curvature of the spout, it was not possible to take a photo). This area is bound to rust as it is very difficult to dry there. It wasn't an extravagant teapot, but at $30 my minimum requirement is that my tea isn't rusty when I pour it to get it back. Very disappointing

Pros
  • Can be used on many hob types including electric, ceramic, halogen, induction but do not boil water on a gas hob!
Cons
  • Almost everything is available
