I have skin cancer that I was prescribed chemotherapy pills to reduce its size. I've been taking it for over two years now. One of the side effects of the chemotherapy drug is severe muscle spasms. To prevent or at least reduce them, my doctor prescribed me L-carnitine. That works great. It doesn't prevent them completely, but it does reduce the frequency of leg cramps and when I have a cramp I immediately take another dose of L-Carnitine and the cramps go away within fifteen minutes. I don't know all the uses for it, but I can recommend L-Carnitine to anyone with muscle cramps. It works really really well for me. Update 4/14/21 - I finally finished chemo two weeks ago. While taking these pills I lost 71 pounds without dieting. I read the label on the bottle of L-Carnitine500 and it says it helps with weight loss. I think they are absolutely correct and while I no longer need to take them for leg cramps, or at least less frequently, I plan to continue taking them as I feel it's time for a proper diet and exercise plan, now, when i feel better. This is a wonderful product!
