Review on πŸͺ“ John Boos Block RAD03-GRV-S: Maple Wood Cutting Board with Curved Edges, Juice Groove, and Pouring Spout - 24" x 18" x 2.25 by Toya Robinson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

UPDATED - cracked after 2 months.

Excellent board, a pleasure to cut on. I don't have to worry about running out of space and I can do all the preparation in one go. I have not used it to cut meat as I prefer to use plastic and then pop it in the dishwasher for proper sanitization. It's hefty, but the channel and spout make it easy to wash with soap and water. I used Boos Mystery Oil and it darkened it a bit which I like. I haven't used the cream yet. For those with a small kitchen, storage can be an issue. It's huge! I just leave it on my island covered with a kitchen towel. I'll report back on durability in a few months. UPDATE*** I bought this board along with Boos oil 2 months ago and oiled it thoroughly one day as it was very dry. . Since then I have hand washed, dried immediately and then applied a little oil to the dry areas. I recently saw a tear in a seam and when I called John Boos they told me it was because I was lubricating too much. For real? I only oil it when it looks dry, which is suggested on their bottle. They told me to contact Revain, which I did, but I would have to pay a restocking fee as the "refund" deadline had expired. I decided to keep it and use it until everything cracked but I'm very disappointed with the quality! I am giving two stars for the size and weight and for the channel which creates a mess around when slicing juicy fruit and veg.
