Dangerous! (Revised Review)

Picked up the ramp this morning and tested right away. I put a treat in the van and my dog (lab mix) jumped straight onto the ramp and we were on our way! I like it. UPDATE: 9/5/15 Revised from 5 stars to 3 stars. Attention danger! I originally bought this ramp for my dog to get into the van. It works great with treats. However, I also needed a ramp for the back stairs of the house. Rather than buying another ramp, I tried this one and encountered the same problem as another Pet Gear ramp (the "freestanding" ramp). The dog scoots around the edges. If you look at the picture you will see that the edges are not carpeted. Until you buy a ramp, you won't know that the plastic edges are VERY SLIPPER. Unlike humans, no dog is capable of THINK "Stay away from the edge, there is no carpet." I originally gave both ramps 5 stars, but I have to decline and bring this to the attention of the dog owner due to slipping , slipping and animal stress are DANGEROUS to pets with back, joint or neurological problems. Both ramps are aesthetically pleasing to be honest, but not carpeting the plastic edges was a very silly design decision, especially considering how slippery it is. This is a serious design flaw, especially for large dogs with big paws trying to "claw" up. After a while it just hurts to watch. I will continue to use these for the van but am still looking for a suitable stair ramp. Edit: Update 6/13/15 My dog is doing it again. Slipping and sliding on the plastic side. So, in this rating from 5 stars to 3 stars and up to one. There shouldn't be any stars for bad design. The edges had to be carpeted or have some type of non-slip material covering the slippery edges.
