Not safe to use and won't stand up to a knife

I have ordered several other Bellemain products and have always been happy with their quality but these cutting mats suck. The photos I have included show one of the rugs after a loaf of handmade sourdough bread has been cut. I was expecting to see light scratches on the surface (I ended up using a serrated bread knife), but these rugs were literally torn apart. I found pieces of blue plastic on the bread, the pictures show deep scratches and protruding pieces of plastic. I bought these cutting mats to replace a set of thinner, flimsy mats I paid $1 for at Dollar Tree and these mats held up great with my bread knife. There are surface scratches after a few months of use but nothing compared to the deep scratches and dents on these Bellemain floor mats. If you plan on using a sharp knife and slicing food on these mats then I advise you to ditch this set. Invest in a quality wooden chopping board. They are gentler on your knives and, contrary to popular belief, more hygienic than plastic. Here's what I decided to do.
