So far I've opened this up, played around with it a bit and gotten the overall impression. I don't have the hardware I'm going to use it on yet, so I can't comment on how well it works for this purpose. However, I can post some photos that might be helpful to others considering purchasing this tool as the photos provided are a bit lacking. You get 4 tool parts and 3 body parts. Molded body and 2 caps that hold the wands in place. For tools you are given a dial indicator, a small stick, a large stick and a round "wrench" to unscrew the probe. The large stem appears to be 3/8 inch in diameter. The small stem appears to be 5/32 inch in diameter. Both can be attached via a dovetail system to the flat front of the display below the dial, one on top, or a longer one on the back. The display I received, as in the photo, does not correspond to 12 o'clock with no deflection. It has a range of motion of the specified 40 thousandths in any direction. It can be rotated forward or backward, then returns a little to its original position, and then starts measuring from that position.
