This charcoal toothpaste has a mild, chalky, sweet mint flavor. It didn't noticeably whiten teeth, but the grainy texture left teeth smooth and freshly polished (after a thorough rinse to remove sand from between teeth). This paste does not turn black in the mouth like powder, just a light gray foam. The worst is the sensitivity and pain in the teeth after use. I was hoping I could avoid this by using an alternative to traditional teeth whitening treatments, but my daughter and I had extremely sensitive teeth after using Blaq and this continued for several days after we stopped using it. We ended up throwing that toothpaste away.
