Sakura Pigma Pens: Illustrators' Best Friends

I've been using this particular brand of artists' pens for a little over 20 years and have yet to find a line quality product that compares. and durability of the mark itself. Although not due to a lack of effort on my part, of course. Unfortunately, no other brand of artistic pen I've come across can even come close to reproducing the smooth line that results. from using this product. No other brand can boast that these wonderful (pun intended, I assure you) pens don't bleed. No other brand (to my knowledge) can boast of the variety of tip widths offered here. And let's not forget about the color options available to the consumer. Some alternative brands may claim to offer "true black" pigments (as I've observed using them myself), but they invariably also have inherent flaws that far outweigh that value. They either seep into the surrounding space of the paper (and when I say bleed, I mean like a stranded pig walking in tight circles under a running lawnmower), destroying any fine detail the artist might be trying to achieve Has; or they do not penetrate deeply into the paper carrier, so that streaks form even weeks after application; or, worst of all in my opinion, they fade as the work ages to the point where they are almost invisible, rendering the work unreadable and awkward and better left unmade (like now the hard work of an associate artist or incomplete or simply missing). Of course, you can choose reusable mechanical pens ("real" artist's tools, at least they claim so, like the vaunted "rapid-o-graph" sets) for the same job; The main downside here, however, is the time it takes to clean and maintain these pens, not to mention the messy hell that accompanies each cleaning and refill (a necessary refill that happens far more often than warranted). - oh yes, let's not forget the cost of refilling ink and the difficulty of finding that ink on store shelves without much searching and hassle). one art supply store (both national and local) that I have ever shopped at. Lest I forget to mention, the reusable mechanical artist pens mentioned above also have an unpleasant tendency to leak (mostly directly onto the artwork they're used on) and BAD to bleed - and unless you're a big fan of Heavy application If you're working from scratch, this (despite my previous statement) can be the biggest drawback of all. I have enjoyed using the same pens on a variety of professional work ranging from architectural renderings, commercial illustrations and art arrangements to published comics and trading card art (for Marvel Comics among others), book/movie/album covers, etc., as well as personal items for friends and family. For my money there is no other choice than Sakura Pigma Micron pens. in all their wonderful variety (point size and color variations).

Both pens that I bought are dry. One worked one time. The other did not work at all.
