First, they are not designed to block noise. That is why it is called a draft barrier. I have a 36" door (or so) and the 37" door compresses well. The apartment was built in 2017, but major construction projects after this shift got the ground moving. So, the doors and windows are now shifted, they complain that they open, but there are drafts. As in the 1940s - 1960s. I didn't have a strong draft because heat builds up in more dense living conditions. And the door is glass, so there is always a temperature difference. I want to open the windows on some winter nights when it gets so warm, but I taped them shut lol! Non smoking building - must be 50ft tall. a way. (Oxygen patients etc.) - and residents didn't think twice about not smoking on their balconies. I have a lot of immune and respiratory issues so anything that came in was rough on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, made me cough, etc. After the windows and panes were taped up, smoke was still coming in. Winter temperature and pressure science I guess. The weather unsuccessfully sealed the door. But THIS furry thing rocks! The bottom of the door was the only part I couldn't seal. Used a towel that didn't work. But this draft blocker is so malleable that I can actually tuck it under the door and door corners. I had an in door HEPA air purifier that worked well and removed the smoke after it entered. It disturbs! SO HAPPY! I will buy another one for the front door leading to the main hall! I see no need for velcro. The door opens outwards and the sock rests on the frame. Close the door and slide it back inside. The front door slides in and I'm not expecting to use velcro. It's easy - at first I was afraid it wasn't *hard enough*. That way, trying to move my foot away to reposition the next one is less painful than trying to remove the Velcro when I step off. And it looks beautiful! Much better than the two patterned towels I stapled together!
