You might not notice the first few days, but by day three, be ready, put your socks on. It says don't peel it and let it do its thing, but who am I kidding, it's fun to peel. Don't wash your feet before putting on a sock, or immediately after you take it off. I noticed that the subsequent moisturizing of the feet did not have the same effect as the first time. Just let your feet soak in and shower the next day. I put socks on and then put REAL socks on top. When I HAVE to get up, I slip and slide less. I would say get ready to be a couch potato for an hour and a half and relax until you kick off your socks. Then let them air dry. Nice cooling feeling.
