Great for that ice cream

I bought this in anticipation of the freezing winters coming here in Seattle and finally put it to use this week. It's great for thin ice but has serious problems with thicker ice (only scrapes off the top layer). Not sure if it's the scraper, I haven't found one that can handle ice that thick.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Sturdy but tiring to hold

The foam grip is well padded, but the oval shape of the grip is too flat and wide to grip without muscle fatigue. I would like a Round Pen but the RevHeads brand is out of stock. The low profile bucket fits under wipers and also in a door pocket. I use a medium grit nail file on the edge to be smoothed to smooth out small imperfections.

Brass or plastic ice scraper scratches windshield

This ice scraper was used on a brand new car and left small scratches on the windshield. I've even used a brass bladed ice scraper called the Fantastic Ice Scaper with a brass blade in the past that also scratched, but that was a different machine. So I think the lesson is to expect small scratches from ice scrapers and rarely use them unless you care about scratches. Hence my normal three star rating.

High quality with a nice wide edge!

Great scraper! It is made of durable plastic and has a soft touch. It has a nice wide scraper head that makes it quicker to use than other scrapers I've tried. It didn't damage any of my windows and it scraped the ice smooth and clean. The only improvement suggestion I would make would be to make the product a bit longer (I'm 5ft 3" and couldn't reach the center of the windshield on my Mazda SUV). All in all it is a high quality product. and I recommend it. Please agree if you find my review…

cuts through ice like a hot knife through butter

I bought it a month ago hoping to use it and got caught in a snowstorm. not very good for removing ice. I saw it on Amazon and other great reviews and knew I had to have it. We had a snow storm a few days ago and I woke up with icy windows. I used part of the claw and started ripping it apart, then flipped the scraper part of the blade over and cleared the windows of ice. I was very impressed with how quickly I removed this ice. eat through thick ice. For the price of this winter tool you…

Much better than the

Just got this a few weeks ago and kept it in the bottom of my glove box (2012 Toyota Sienna, has a smaller top and larger bottom glove box). It fits in nicely along with some other papers and admittedly crap I should probably get rid of or move into the house. Anyway, the temperature around me has only dropped below zero twice and I was able to check it and everything went fine. The scraper's handle and neck are strong, and while I had to use a lot of force to scrape the ice off the windshield,

Yes - it's worth it! Good coverage with every touch and very durable

Thank god I have it! I threw it in the car with my 5 other guys. Yesterday in Pennsylvania we got a relatively thick layer of ice from freezing rain that lasted 2 hours. I left the work to the sounds of my colleagues busily hacking, hacking, scraping, scraping on their machines. They used long ones (I have one too) with a brush on one end and a hard-to-reach scraper for the right pressure on the other end. Then I remembered I had one. I started the car and grabbed this blue one thinking it…

Great for Central Texas' rare freezes

Living in an area where ice almost never occurs means you're never really ready for it. Our cities and counties won't spend money on pavement equipment that's idle, snow (and snow chains) will only be seen on TV, and you'll never think to scrape ice off your windshield. But over the summer I read an article about things to keep on hand in the car, and an ice scraper was one of them. Я вспомнил пару лет назад, когда редкий сильный мороз сочетался с небольшим дождем, и я помню, как мне пришлось…

My winters are mild, but this beats any scraper I've ever used!

Not that I've experienced many, but this is by far the best window scraper I've ever used. I feel obligated to make a disclaimer at the beginning of this review: I don't live in New England or the Midwest. I live in central North Carolina where a few inches of snow is a big deal. Therefore, this scraper is almost always used primarily for frost, not snow. However, the times I've had to use it this winter have been as easy as ever. I usually run the machine for a few minutes in the morning with…
