Description of Enhanced Neiko 10181A Titanium Grooved 3-Piece Set

Constructed of industrial high speed steel with titanium nitride coating for durability and strength to punch and drill clean holes in materials like plastic, aluminum, wood, copper, stainless steel and other types of sheet metal. Unibit split point tip accelerates cutting speed while preventing angled walking away from center line of bore. Two-flute spiral grooved design deburrs chip, dust and debris for clearance and smooth cutting. Quick change 1/4-inch hex shank makes for easy, convenient bit switches and is compatible with impact ready power tools. Assortment comes with 3 drill bits of a combined 31 sizes to add to your drilling arsenal: 13 step drill (1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 9/32, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 13/32, 7/16, 15/32, 1/2-inch) 6 step drill (3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2-inch) and 12 step drill (3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16, 7/8-inch).

They cut thin metal!

Very impressed with this price so far! I work in HVAC and they are very helpful when I need to cut metal or wood. Some holes won't go through so I drill through them. Or drill a hole in the shaft to check temperature fluctuations in the firebox. Stayed sharp and didn't collapse on impact. Will buy more!

Great value for money: Step drill

These drills are inexpensive spiral step drills. They have long lasting sharpness and are great for 1/4" hex drive. This allows me to use a bit of an extension cord to get into those hard to reach places. The drill bit's shank broke after a month of use (I use drill bits for the Fits school bus accessories, usually 1/8-1/4" steel), but the drill bit is still usable and comes at a relatively low price. I am happy with the purchase.

Easily drills plastic at low speed.

I love Neiko's Titanium Coated Quick Change Spiral Flute Step Drill. I tried the non-spiral version of these drill bits and it didn't work for my project, but they allowed me to drill a perfectly sized hole in plastic cups with just an electric screwdriver. Wonderful. I saved a fortune on expensive planters by using regular cups which are very difficult to pierce. The tips are so sharp I didn't even have to drill a pilot hole. I am thrilled and highly recommend them1

I want my money back!

I bought this step drill set a while ago. I am a radio amateur and build my own antennas. I often make frames etc. from 1/8 sheet metal. You can literally break these sheets by bending them back and forth. While trying to drill some holes I screwed three of the 5 bits. Once you drill a hole to 3/8" the bits become completely dolly and won't even cut paper anymore. time.chinese trash. oops. I meant chinese quality.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Don't waste your money

This bit cannot be expected to persist. However, due to the cheap price, I assume that it can maybe be used once. Dulled 2 minutes after drilling into 1/16" steel, the bluntness caused the bit to get stuck in the steel and thus broke in my punch and got stuck in the hex chuck. Very disappointed with the product and the total waste of $12. I love other Neiko stuff lol it's generally good value for money. A Harbor Truck $5 step drill replaced this to do the job and successfully did the job and…

Wow! I was really impressed with how fast they cut metal.

The plastic case that holds the bits from my carbide drill bit set holds them so tightly that I cut my fingers trying to get the right size too many times When I I thought it was worth a try and was very surprised at how quickly they cut through 1/8" thick steel angles and are graduated so you had to push enough until they cut through the next size up. After only one With half a dozen holes they still feel sharp so they seem durable. As for durability I won't know for sure until I use them more…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

The plastic case that holds the drills from my carbide drill bit set held them so tight that I cut my fingers too many times trying to get the right size drill bit. Thought it might be worth a try and was very surprised at how quickly they cut through the 1/8" thick steel angle and those steps required applying enough pressure before it cut through the next size up. After only half a dozen Holes still feel sharp to the touch so they appear durable. As for durability, I won't know for sure until

Pros
  • Metalworking Drills and Multi-Purpose Drills
Cons
  • A few bits and pieces

I purchased this step drill bit to drill a 7/8" diameter hole in 28" stainless steel sheet metal. cutting oils. The chisel cut to 9/16" and didn't cut to 5/8"! I sent it back for a replacement and with the new one I started with a 1/4" pilot hole, it went through the stage fine until I reached the 5/8" stage and stopped and pierced again. I used small step drill bits to drill pilot holes and they worked fine with no problems. I think they're disposable bits, but for big holes they're useless…

Pros
  • Step Drill Bit
Cons
  • Wrinkled Packaging

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

This was just what I needed to repair and install new wheels on the twelve catering carts we use for our church school cafeteria and pantry. I mounted new wheels on the old brackets on two wagons. The new wheels used a larger center bolt, so I had to flip the mounts (that's 16 holes in 1/8 steel). One of these guys had me do it all in less than 10 minutes and didn't show any wear and tear. On 9 carts, the new heavier wheels required me to add a quarter inch plywood washer between the mounting…
