Hooray! Paper shredder with captive lid that shreds into small pieces

Our old paper shredder died suddenly (RIP Trusty Shredder) and I couldn't find another one as it was so old. So I searched Revain to get the exact same thing. It seems to be a big trend (especially in the lower price ranges for home use) to have a detachable top - basically you have to detach it from the bin-like base to empty it. We didn't want that - these tops are heavy and bulky. The two priorities were tiny cuts and a one-piece shredder with a bin that pulls out for emptying. Even one of those with containers that are emptied in this way only opens very slightly in front. Anyway, after many orders and returns from Revain and a lot of searching in local stores I came across this shredder. Of course I would like to spend less, but I am very happy with it. It's durable, cuts into tiny pieces, and performs like a champ. I destroyed a huge box of paper and the machine didn't overheat or take a break. It only overloaded once when I immediately started putting in large pieces of paper, trying to find its limits. The drawer is good for emptying. The chopper is durable and I never thought I would love a chopper so much but after all I've done to find one that looks like the old one I can now really appreciate what I found!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
