Copper is beautiful

Tldr: copper is lovely!I originally dyed my hair a 7w Demi-permanent color, which was really just a warm-looking light brown, but I really wanted redder hair. This definitely pushed me from brownish red to red. Just the tone I was looking for, without the damage! And as the brown fades out and I top off the red after each wash, it gets redder each time. Love it.Note: pre-lightening your hair will absolutely get you a brighter color. My bangs were the most highlighted, and this picked up a brighter copper pigment. The rest of my hair was heavily balayaged before going brown (both at home lol) so picked up more color depending on how lightened it was before going brown. On my virgin roots, the color is a lot less intense. My natural hair is a 6-7N, medium neutral blonde. Coloring my un-highlighted hair to a level 7w with level 10 developer opened up the follicle enough to get some nice copper absorption. Virgin hair is resistant to color because essentially, it’s undamaged. Coloring hair even with a gentle, minimally damaging Demi-permanent color with level 10 developer seems to be enough to help a glaze like keracolor to absorb.I actually would recommend doing an all-over Demi-permanent red if you’re looking for a similar result. I’ve really liked ion’s 7wr and 7w but Wella also has a beautiful red (at least it used to). That way, the color will be deeper, the Kenra will absorb better, and then you can deepen the red with it every other wash. If, for example, you have highlights or balayage, this will mostly probably stick to the blonde which may not be what you are going for. However, if you have highlights and THEN do an all-over Demi red, you will get an even more vivid, brighter red. If your hair is already fully platinum, this will look super bright.Immediately after the very first pass, my hair was brigggghht red. After washing it once or twice, it mellows into a more convincing, natural fox fur shade. But I do like the bright a lot.I will absolutely order this color again and I love that it’s deposit-only on my pre-colored hair so it’s less damaging.UPDATE (11/28):Some customers said this product caused shedding, and I’ve used it long enough to say that I think it does! My hair has been through a lot, including bleaching and dying it a few times, but I still don’t recall shedding this much with the normal abuse I put my hair through lol.I think this product might be drying? I can’t imagine what else could cause it. I had used it in different colors before, and didn’t notice anything unusual, but I did not use it heavily (every other wash) like I’m doing now. That might make a difference. Is it a dealbreaker? Not sure yet. I will finish the rest of the product but I’m not sure yet whether I will repurchase.
