Review on Zippo 121503 Fuel Canister by Russell Mahendra

I bought this to have fuel for my Zippo lighter and Zippo hand warmer. First, good. It is durable and has enough liquid fuel to fuel your Zippo item. It doesn't leak, the lid is secure, and the top-mounted ring makes it easy to hold. Not all good news and that's why I gave it three stars. I just can't get it to meter fuel with the spout cap in place. Not sure if the vent is missing or what the problem is, but I have to completely remove the spout from the canister to pour out the fuel. It doesn't sound like a big problem, but it usually results in fuel spilling all over the place, especially when trying to put fuel into a hand warmer. I'll have to play around with it to see if I can find a way to get it to work, but for now I'm just keeping it as an emergency backup fuel source. ***UPDATE 10/22/2020: After trying this container out last weekend and having no luck using it with the spout attached, I decided to make a small modification to make it usable for its intended purpose. I took some small drill bits and very carefully enlarged the hole in the drain pipe as well as the vent hole. Once that was done, the Zippo fuel flowed freely from the canister. The mod took less than 5 minutes and was easy to make as the container is aluminum. This item is now working as expected when I purchased it.
