Simply good. Not good.

I like the idea, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Here are my constructive criticisms: 1) The size and capacity are perfect. 2) The overall design and aesthetics are great. 3) The "strip" around the canister needs to be knurled, it can be difficult to unscrew the part you want to unscrew. (i.e. you want to unscrew the cap to refill the lighter but end up loosening the bottom like you're refilling a canister.) 4) Aluminum is too soft for the threads used, mine tends to make cross…

This Zippo fuel can works!

This is the second Zippo fuel can I have bought. The liquid stays trapped inside and when it evaporates it has to do so incredibly slowly because I tested this in the deep south in brutal heat for a year. The liquid was still in the canister when I needed it and it worked after I put it in my Zippo lighter. They are lightweight and fit perfectly into Maxpedition's bag organizers. You'll also be clipped anywhere you need faster access. They don't leak and I can't recommend them highly enough…

More than expected - withstands a lot.

I gave up butane lighters for my outdoor adventures after encountering 0F conditions and butane not working. I've also had way too many of those cheap lighters that broke, stopped working when they got wet, etc. But liquid lighters need fuel. My old Zippo lighter evaporated too quickly. I've found a few other long lasting outdoor lighters that hold fuel but wanted to be sure I had a supply and found this one. Easy to fill. They are larger than expected, half size would probably fit me best…

Great concept but too busy upstairs.

Great concept, too busy (top of canister). All good traits, but the "Split Ring" can't handle them. It had already opened up, and I lost the flint and rubber retainer and "thumbnail" (the device used to unscrew the flint case). Instead of a split ring, there is enough room for the included key ring and swivel mechanism to move. The canister is also leaking. Loss of fuel, like the others. I think I'll look for a thicker washer. Too bad I really like my ZIPPO lighters and wanted this little…

Pros
  • Rotating rosette and keyring; Holds keys or clips to something
Cons
  • Don't remember but there was something

I bought this to have fuel for my Zippo lighter and Zippo hand warmer. First, good. It is durable and has enough liquid fuel to fuel your Zippo item. It doesn't leak, the lid is secure, and the top-mounted ring makes it easy to hold. Not all good news and that's why I gave it three stars. I just can't get it to meter fuel with the spout cap in place. Not sure if the vent is missing or what the problem is, but I have to completely remove the spout from the canister to pour out the fuel. It…

Pros
  • Flint Screw Tool; Holds a Zippo flint
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

PLEASE check yours for a major safety defect

PLEASE PLEASE check these regularly if included in kits and not used regularly. These are essential items if you have zip ties in your gear but when nostalgia got the better of me and I ordered two lighters I knew I would add them to the order. I bought two fill cans six weeks ago and kept them in semi-rigid cases in backpacks in the back closet. During a routine gear check and no wonder the lighters were empty, I opened them to fill the lighters to see how much they held. Imagine my horror…

Pros
  • Quickly loosens/tightens lighter flint screws
Cons
  • Available in black only
