I've bought 2 Lowrance units in the last 3 years and both are unusable. The first was 1 month out of warranty and was not asked to replace it under warranty. However, nothing changes for the second month of warranty, as the serial number has dissolved in water. They stamp the serial number on a PAPER STICKER on the part of the transducer that is submerged in water. NOT the dry end, but the end submerged in water. I provided them with the receipt and photos of the damaged converter and when I told them I couldn't read the serial number because it had dissolved they stopped all communication with me. I will buy a Garmin today and never look back. The whole time I've been using Lowrance products I've wished I had my last Garmin. Lowrance seems cheaper when you buy the devices but it is actually a low quality product, you get what you pay for!
