Review on Kaytee 100528624 CritterTrail 2 Level Habitat by Mary Gilbert

I bought this to attach to our single story Crittertrail Habitat. I love the habitats and most of all I love our 3 dwarf hamsters. They are easy to assemble and easy to clean. The tubes are a bit tricky to dry inside, but some clever maneuvers with rolled paper towels solved the problem. My ONLY criticism of these habitats is that nowhere does it say that additional pipes are needed to connect the two habitats. Since this information isn't in the instructions or on the Kaytee website, I assumed I could rearrange the existing tubes to connect them. This cannot be done without cutting off access to other parts of the cage. For example, they cannot reconfigure the hose that leads to the petting zoo, otherwise they will not be able to get to the petting area. I've tried using the tubes from the viewer I bought, but A) those tubes don't fit where I need them, and B) using those tubes would render the viewer unusable. So my advice is if you buy this habitat, spend the extra $10 on a pack of extra tubes if you plan on connecting to another habitat. My little furry balls spent an hour in the weasel zone (hole sealed) while I sorted this out. Also, the water bottle is not good. Buy a round bottle. The one that comes with the product is square and the nozzle is not oriented perpendicular to the flat side that abuts the cage, making the nozzle difficult to reach. Also, no water runs off. Our hamsters were constantly sitting there trying to get water out of it. After a day of use I went to Tractor Supply and bought a round bottle with a wire hook and it works great.
