I ended up with bike "headlights" that emit a beam. They are great and all, but too complex and too expensive and just not suitable for everyday cycling. A simple white light like this is much better and provides the real security I (from cars) need. Those little battery powered flashlights are way better. You just stay on the bike, too inconspicuous to be a target for theft. Batteries last a long time, are cheap and easy to replace. Now I have them front and back. Also noteworthy: excellent customer service. I ordered a front/back pair and Revain messed up the order. The seller tried to fix it but Revane screwed it up AGAIN. So the seller sent me a third pair. It's excellent and I really appreciate that. I would highly recommend them for any overnight commute or city break. I would be surprised if there was a better light at a better price anywhere.
