Review on PetSpy Waterproof Rechargeable Training Vibration by Jen Schuelke

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall I've been very happy with these devices over the last few weeks

Overall I've been very happy with these devices over the past few weeks. So far I've had about half a dozen different models over the past 2-3 years from Dog Widgets, iPets, Cujo Control and Aetertek and so far this one has been the best. The unit has a lot of good qualities, a solid range of vibration and shock levels (I don't even need more than 4-5 out of 8 for my stubborn 120+ pound pier) and reasonably good control placement. Can switch between one collar, second collar, and both collars at once (would be nice if there were separate controls, like some Aetertek and DogWidgets, but still). It travels a good distance (provided you set it up correctly, otherwise it might not be enough), the vibration mechanism doesn't stick when using it (I've had constant problems with both iPets and Aetertek), the beeper is quite loud and annoying ( my dog hates it and responds best to it) and they charge very quickly (less than 30 minutes) and last all day (nearly two days before finally depleting). I've only had to re-sync the collars once, and I think that was because I let them idle once. My biggest gripe with these devices is probably the auto-sleep features. on collars as the gyro sensors are extremely insensitive so when the collar falls asleep I often have to take the collar off and shake out the snot for 3-6 seconds to wake it up again. I suppose this is probably the source of many people's frustration when they have had seemingly defective devices. Sometimes it's not that bad and a few good flicks of the finger will wake it up, but it usually takes a pretty vigorous shake for a few seconds so I just have to check them before I take them each time. on both my dogs and a full run it may not be enough to wake the collar up again. However, these are still the best training collars I have used to date.
