DO NOT CUT THE WIRING OR REMOVE THE COVER. I am in the process of replacing sun tanned parts on my 2006 F-150. This third brake light replacement was the first part I received and ran straight to my BIG RED truck to have it installed. After I took the old one off, I thought, crap, it doesn't fit. I have 3 plugs, in the new one. If only he were willing to return. I started reading reviews and thank goodness. how did i do it Disconnect the light from the 3 connector harness. Follow the wiring to another connector. This is the connector that you will use with your new flashlight. The fork has a plastic barb mount that holds the wiring between the roof and the headliner. Look to the right of the hole the wire goes through and you will see a barbed part sticking out, push it back through the hole and you can pull on the wire just enough to get at the connector. Use a small screwdriver to unlock the latch between the two connectors. Here it is. turn on your light It was 1/2 beer project
