Review on Americanflat Floating Frame 11X14 Black by Andrea Lopez

good framework. The stock photo is inserted aggressively.

This is a nice frame and decent quality but I got a little frustrated after deleting the photo and installing my own. I've dabbled with floating frames before, and I really like the idea of your wall being the 'mat' of the photo. However, the standard photo that comes with the frame is glued to the rearmost glass. And it is not so easily removable semi-adhesive glue. This material is an INCREDIBLY aggressive, hard, sticky adhesive. I had to rip out the (literally) stock photo and scrape 2 spots of glue off the glass with a razor blade and then clean with solvent and then glass cleaner. However, once the preparation and cleaning is complete, this is a great frame. It takes a little careful inspection and measurement to center the photo on the glass and pin it neatly (I used a few pieces of that blue poster nail). The tolerances are tight enough and the panes and mounting board squeeze enough that your photo should be held very securely between the glass panes. Just be careful of fingerprints when putting the glass back in place because as you are passing 2 glasses you can easily leave stains on the back glass itself. I really like floating frames because you can print your photo in any aspect ratio and as long as it fits in the glass and you center it well you'll have any mat size you need. Want to print an ultrawide panorama but don't want to buy a special panorama mat? Use a floating frame! Your wall is now a carpet. I will be buying more but just expect some extra prep work to be done to remove the factory glue.
