Review on Ilford 1984253 Rapid Fixer 500Ml by Leo Torres

Ilford has a reputation for making the best chemicals for film photography. I have never used any other brand as Ilford was recommended by the hobbyist and professional community from the start. I use this fixer with Kodak Plus-X 35mm black and white print film, Fujifilm Neopan 400 professional black and white negative film and Ilford's own Ilford HP5 Plus black and white print film and get great results every time. For such an important step in the development process I can't think of any other fixer I would use. Key features of this fixer: * This fixer does NOT contain Sodium Thiosulfate (Hypo) so you do not need a Hypo Cleaner. *This is a non-curing fixer so it may not work very well on old or delicate film, but it works well on modern film. *Ilford warns against the use of fixatives. to me. Shelf life Unopened 24 months, after opening 6 months. I have used this fixer 9 months after opening but with a slightly longer fix time (7-10 minutes) and have had positive results.
