Review on Monroe 32404 Monro Matic Shock Absorber by Jay Aukuso

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Direct fit, but not a PRECISE fit.

For the price, they're worth it for a cheap TEMPORARY repair. However, they are difficult to tighten alone. The bottom part is light, only 1 nut. The problem is in the top nut and bolt. At the top of the shock is a set of two bushings that prevent the bolt from tightening. It only lasts up to a certain point. You don't need to hold the tip of the shock to tighten it the first time you install it. But it gets to the point that even holding the tip with pliers helps. As a result, you will have to take it to the shop to have a mechanic tighten it for you. Otherwise, the smooth ride you get by installing them yourself will come with the side effect of rattling every time you smack your ass. The back of my focus feels much better, but the AF chatter is annoying.
