Great tool for learning bluetooth low energy communication
I bought this to learn more about BTLE communication and I am satisfied with how well it works. Be sure to check the ubertooth.sourceforge.net website for the latest drivers and firmware. The firmware downloaded was quite old and incompatible with the latest drivers. The software includes the latest firmware and a utility to update the device. I've used it with Wireshark, but it can also be used to capture packets for further processing.
