Last month when my 29-year-old Braun coffee maker broke down, I felt a little angry and betrayed because I was looking for simple, economical, and fixable things in my sought life. And no coffee maker (except this one) will ever satisfy those needs. So for me it wasn't so much that I wanted the Moccamaster as that I didn't want any of the others as they are all irreparable in the long run. run. And so often too useless or too clumsy with features I'll never use. Oddly enough, once Moccamaster showed up and I started using it, all my self-invented dramaturgy and ambivalence immediately evaporated. I am currently in an open romance with the beauty and promise of the Mocammaster. The coffee tastes noticeably better with this machine too, even compared to my trusty Braun. To save space I keep the case on top of the fridge and cover it with a small kitchen towel to keep dust out. For security reasons, I hide the glass carafe in a cabinet at floor level. Given the availability of spare parts, the many well-meaning people who will purchase this device over the decades, and being a huge fan of beautiful Spardingers, I'm extremely content with my long-standing marriage to Moccamaster. Tip: I press the carafe gently and directly onto the drip stop when I put the carafe on and off the stove. This avoids unwanted scratching of the glass on the metal of the burner.
