Okay, it took me a little patience, at least for this company's products, but it has paid off so much for me. I started using their bulbs about a year ago because they were cheap but had all the high end features and didn't need a hub. At the time, I thought the installation was a nightmare. I went nuts trying to get the app to change the bulb names and set them up in the configuration I wanted. When I first bought these plugs the reason I bought these plugs was because they were from the same manufacturer. /app as the bulbs I had and wanted to remain "not a hub" so that was a no-brainer. By this time they had improved the app and it became a lot easier to set up and setup names and rooms. I thought most people would pull their hair out because I consider myself a bit tech savvy. Young. I was able to change device names and reorganize the room configuration without opening the app for the devices themselves, the Alexa app set everything up. You may have to do the initial setup with the Smart Life (I don't know, but if so, it's probably simplified too), but I will consciously look for these products in the future due to the value and ease of use.
