We have had an APEC sink side reverse osmosis system for 10 years. The last tank (about 3 gallons?) lost pressure after about ten years. APEC said they typically last 7 or 8 years. We've always wanted more water and my previous unit was installed in the basement under the kitchen. There was enough space for this device and it's great to have more water. My wife loves a big tank. After about 6 years, I refilled the original tank with minerals and weighed it incorrectly when I installed the new tank. After a week the water became tasteless. I poured purified mineral water into a storage tank instead of mineralizing it just before use. I had to empty the tank (APEC customer service has always been great), run a few batches and now everything is great. The water is amazing after about 3 months with a new aquarium. If you have a room it's definitely worth it!
