Inexpensive system, variable power, NOT for outdoor use

I waited six weeks to review this camera system to ensure I tested all the features in all weather conditions. Unfortunately, this will be a MOST negative review for the reasons given below. It still has some pros, but they are overshadowed by the cons: Pros: Affordable price, no monthly fee, 4 cameras cover multiple directions, acceptable night vision range, snapshot is a nice feature, software is custom. Friendly and meets most needs, push notifications are great when they work, local buzzer function is nice to have CONS: First, as an outdoor system, this camera system failed miserably. I sincerely believe this will be a good internal system only for the following reasons: 1- Recording at (15) fps is a joke. It's too slow for moving objects. Either the system records much slower (15 fps) or it is defective. If someone quickly runs past the cameras or even walks, they will NOT be able to take any usable pictures and you won't even get a clear face shot, just a blurry image. This applies to everything that moves. Push notifications are incompatible with even the most trusted network. Normal video delays of (30) seconds are a daily occurrence. If you are not on your private network, these delays can sometimes reach (15) minutes, which is too long to catch anyone in action. 3 mic is absolutely useless. All you hear is a deep echo from the twilight zone. There's no way to override this feature in hardware, so I always mute it in software to avoid going crazy. Worse on windy days. False motion alarms are common and occur hourly. I lowered the sensitivity settings to the absolute minimum and it still doesn't work. I also used grid elimination to narrow down the exposure range and nothing changed. The Passive Infrared (PIR) system is useless and I doubt it's even in the device! Any car headlights shining close to the cameras will trigger a false alarm. There is no difference between living and non-living objects. The buzzer is triggered every hour by small animals, birds, pets, and even flying debris on windy days. Last night we had fog with drizzle. The alarm clock rang every minute for two hours, at one point I had to turn it off to get some sleep5 - there's only one USB interface, which is used for the mouse. If you need to upload your footage you have two options: unplug your mouse and plug in a USB drive for a set period of time or buy a USB hub, which I had to do. This device must have two USB ports, not one! 6- Very poor quality camera lens with very low resolution. Even with my car parked 50 feet away, I can't read my license plate in daylight. You can forget to read anything at night, it's impossible. This system definitely needs higher resolution lenses. Even switching to HD mode gives you the same disappointing results. My personal conclusion is that this is a cheap system that only works if you have the patience to toggle functions on and off on a daily basis. Otherwise look for something else. I only give TWO STARS
