Easiest car repair at a fraction of the retail price

The fan in my 2008 Yaris has been intermittent for about a year, so I finally decided to figure out what to do about it . I found that sometimes the fan wouldn't work when I started the car, but if I rolled down the windows and left the fan on, it would eventually come on - like it needed a boost from the wind. Turns out that was the problem. I unclipped the old fan and turned on the fan, but it didn't move. But if I took my finger and twisted it slightly, it would start blowing. So I decided to buy this replacement fan since it was 1/3 the price at the auto parts store down the street. And with Prime shipping, I got it before the part got to the store because they were supposed to order it. Installation took 10 minutes. I didn't even have to remove the glove box since it's actually underneath. I used an 8mm socket wrench for 3 bolts and it was done. Now it works great. Update 8/30/16: The fan I bought in March 2014 stopped working last week. Ordered another one, delivered today. Works great. I wish the original I bought had lasted longer, but I guess I can't complain about a $47 repair if I didn't have to change anything.
