Pay attention to packaging and design. That's great. I don't want to put it in a drawer with other chopsticks and can just give it to my mom. I'm all for food safety and they pass my smell and taste test. There is no odor after washing, and immersing in water for 10 minutes leaves only a slight woody aftertaste, not chemical at all. The wood is polished, not coated with resin, so does not need to be boiled, left in water, or cooked on. The round design is comfortable. Square chopsticks often leave marks on the skin. It's not like this. Highly recommended.
