For what I needed they did their job. I needed some sticks for a birthday party with lots of kids. They were newbies so I knew they would set fire to the traditional pointed stick. They can be telescoped well and are easy to clean. Everyone could sit as close or as far from the fire as they wanted. They support the weight of a regular sized hot dog and can cook it by moving it along or over the tongs. It even held the weight of two hot dogs for some very hungry kids. The only downside is that they are a bit flimsy so long-term use is questionable. I'm sure they will stand up to occasional use or alternate use. I'm just not sure if this is a "for life" product.
