I checked the continuity of the electric motor in the throttle body that controls the throttle, I had an open circuit so I ordered this part. My problem was fixed immediately. Reset my codes and drove the truck fairly lightly for about a week to allow the computer to relearn the gas pedal. Before buying I tried going to the junkyard and only found 5.4 with throttle body, they are mounted vertically on the engine and the bolts are different so don't think they will fit on the 4.6L. For the price it was the best I found and it worked many months later. I actually noticed a lot of throttle response afterwards, so the defective throttle body was showing signs of wear, but I wasn't even expecting that.
