I recently scratched the screen of my Apple Watch Series 4 by scratching it with a weight pad while exercising. I also go to the beach and don't want to wear my beautiful steel bracelet in salt water where it will corrode. I bought this strap and watch case from Realproof brand to solve these two problems. It consists of four parts: two straps, front cover and back cover. Everything is made of soft material, so very light and comfortable. My 44mm watch was easy to install and fit snugly. A screen cleaning cloth is included to prevent dust entry and other troubles. Usually when it comes to screen protectors, I have to buy two or three because some of them invariably have bubbles, dust, or pet hair in them, so I have to start over. This screen protector doesn't stick to the screen like the other types, so I've had none of those issues and have removed and replaced my watch a number of times. The back of the case is flexible and fits into a groove in the bezel with a small cut-out in one corner for easy removal. It's a bit difficult to get on and off, but not too much considering it's waterproof. The back cover of the watch is covered with transparent plastic where the heart rate sensor is located. The crown is closed, making it difficult to turn, so you don't accidentally turn it, which can be a good thing. Watch straps are simply inserted into the protective film with spring-loaded pins. Once assembled, the dial was surprisingly easy to use. The screen was very responsive and I could slide up from the bottom to access the control panel and slide up from the top to access the notifications menu without any clutter. I wasn't sure the heart rate sensor would work as effectively with the barrier, but I've been exercising 2 hours each for the past four days and the calories burned have been in line with my usual numbers, and the heart rate notification never went gray as if having problems while reading. However, the EKG or EKG function does NOT work with this protective watch case. As I mentioned earlier, the crown also becomes noticeably harder to turn with the protector engaged. In addition, the watch is dramatically cushioned with this protector. I usually use my alarm clock to wake me up in the morning and it doesn't wake me while it's in this shelter. I use an exercise app that makes a noise when I'm resting between weightlifting sessions and I can't hear it because of the background music. I can still perceive vibrations quite well, but anyone who relies on the loud sound of their Apple Watch will be dissatisfied with this product. Another notable issue is charging the watch. I have three different charging pads that I bought here at Revain. They all use the watch charger that comes with the Apple Watch and holds it in place in some way. My watch could not be charged on any of the three watch stands due to the extra space between the back of the watch and the magnetic charger. I can feel the magnetic base resisting movement, but it won't charge. However, I tried the watch in its case using the included Apple Watch charger and it charged with no issues. If you use a charging station, you will be dissatisfied with this product. If you use the simple Apple Watch charger, you won't have any problems. I tested the water resistance claims by submerging the case and watch in a bath of soapy water and towel drying before removing the watch from the case. It was completely dry inside so I agree it is fully waterproof. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this Realproof Apple Watch case and band. It fits the watch perfectly and offers excellent protection against bumps and falls. It is very comfortable to wear and adjust, fits well and looks good. Material and workmanship appear to be good. I will still wear it to the beach to keep my steel bracelet from rusting in the salt water. But I can't use it as a daily watch strap because it muffles the sound too much for my liking and doesn't work with my chargers. If these two issues don't bother you, this product could be a 5 star product for you. UPDATE: I'm on vacation in Hawaii right now. I used this watch case to avoid sunscreen and salt water on my 44mm Apple Watch series. I secured my watch and double checked the seal before entering the water. I snorkeled for an hour and a half and when I got back to shore I was shocked to see my watch case was full of water! My watch was flooded for God knows how long. The only thing I had to do in this case failed completely. Also, be sure to use the water block feature whenever you're in the water so the water doesn't irritate the screen. To unlock the watch from water lock mode, you need to turn the Digital Crown. I have found that in this case it is IMPOSSIBLE to turn the Digital Crown fast enough when closed. The crown cork is loose so the crown doesn't always turn when you turn it. Side pressing helps, but then you accidentally press the crown button and break the rotation. I had to take the watch out of the case to open the water lock. All in all, I would not recommend this Apple Watch case to anyone. 1/5 stars
