I bought it because sometimes we play mahjong on the bistro table and it has slots in it. Well we put it on the table and it works great. None of the tiles fall or slide through the cracks. We all love the way it looks! The only downside is that you have to air it out. There will be a smell of rubber or something like that when you first take it out of the holder bag. I'm not sure if it's the bag it came in or the rug itself. But we all love this rug!
