I love martingale collars and have bought several over the years. Material wise this is a durable and affordable collar but like other reviews the sizing chart is misleading. I bought a large for my 55 lb Pitbull mix. His neck is around 16.5 inches long and the size is definitely on the big side. In the photo, the collar is adjusted to the smallest possible circumference and my finger is hooked very loosely underneath. Luckily I have another big dog that might need it otherwise I would have returned it. One of the characteristics of the martingale is that the dog cannot back out of the collar. I can't walk him with this collar because I think he could. I deducted a star because an inaccurate sizing chart will result in an item purchased online needing to be returned and/or exchanged to save time. It also cannot be said that the size of his neck is on the border between medium and large. It's big in terms of design.
