Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ AIRCARE MAF1 Replacement Humidifier Filter - Enhanced Wicking Technology (1) by Cory Owens

Works well if you know how to take care of it

We use MAF1 Super Wick Aircare filters in our MA1201 Aircare humidifier. We love the humidifier. It does a great job. However, we had problems with the filters and replaced them after only 1 week of use, which became very expensive. After contacting the company we found that the water going through the softener was causing problems so we switched to non-softened water. This seemed to reduce the buildup that makes filters useless. What works for us now is that we have three filters that we alternate. We take one out of the humidifier after 7 days of operation, soak the crusted part in vinegar for at least an hour, and spray the other parts with vinegar as needed. Meanwhile, let's wipe the humidifier and put a clean DRY filter. We have found that if you clean and rinse the filter and then immediately put it back into the humidifier, it "dangles" and becomes ineffective. After soaking and rinsing the filter, I hang it to dry and use it the next time I do this process. It seems to work like new as long as it's dry if you put it in a humidifier. I clean and change the filters once a week and so far we enjoy humidified air just as much as when we install a new filter.
