The filters are tailored to the packaging, not the humidifier

These filters were shipped in plain brown boxes to reduce plastic waste etc. which I think is great. The problem I have is that the filters were cut to 3 different lengths so when folded they are basically the same width in the box. Instead of using a box that's a few inches wider to accommodate filters of the correct length, they basically trimmed two filters to fit the wrong box. As a result, the shortest of the three filters does not even reach the end. to get to the slots where the ends…

I am having a really hard time figuring out how to rate this product. Yes, it replaces the one that came with my humidifier, but that one sucked too. I mean what a design this is that allows you to freely wrap the filter until it overlaps and then put the lid back on without crushing the filter or pinching anything. It's just ridiculous. Then hope the filter doesn't sag after use, making it less effective - which was here. simple and does not require two people to install and hold…

Works well if you know how to take care of it

We use MAF1 Super Wick Aircare filters in our MA1201 Aircare humidifier. We love the humidifier. It does a great job. However, we had problems with the filters and replaced them after only 1 week of use, which became very expensive. After contacting the company we found that the water going through the softener was causing problems so we switched to non-softened water. This seemed to reduce the buildup that makes filters useless. What works for us now is that we have three filters that we…

Inability to absorb water

I used this product in my AprilAire humidifier. In less than a month he was unable to keep the humidity at the right level. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the performance. I opened the humidifier and found the evaporator seal was dry. It wasn't that the pillow was calcified - I use reverse osmosis to bring water to the humidifier, so the water supply couldn't be much cleaner. When I inspected the vaporizer pad, it was dry so it couldn't humidify the air. I'm a chemist so I thought the

Good filter but didn't last as long as hoped

In late January this year we purchased a white AIRCARE MA1201 Console Whole House Evaporative Humidifier as our house has a very dry winter. The humidifier came with a filter but we wanted to buy another to have on hand as a spare and this was recommended for our unit. I have included photos of the box it comes in and the models this filter will work with that are listed on the box. The filter that came with the humidifier lasted about three months when I had to replace it. This filter comes…

Defective wick solutions

The AirCare MAF1 Super Wick evaporative humidifier wick is enough to provide enough humidity in the room/house with my AirCare MA1201 humidifier. I live in very dry Nevada and this device was a great solution to get around the very dry air. Let's just say there were problems. Even with drinking water from the Truckee River, which our city supplies from snowmelt, salts accumulate at the end of the wick within two days, reducing its effective surface area and making it insufficient to maintain…
