Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Upgraded OEM Quality Blower Assembly for Nissan Maxima - TYC 700044 Replacement by Montez Parson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works fine on Maxim 1995, but.

The pictures of this fan in the product description are true and very similar to the fan I already removed from my 1995 Maxima. Not all of the blowers listed at Revain that claim to work in my car actually looked like mine, so I settled on this one. First of all, she turned out to be a good substitute. There are some differences between this and the original fan that was on the car when I bought it new. Mounting frame, hole pattern and rotor fit together perfectly, but the motor housing is slightly larger and the electrical connection is not on the flat mounting frame but on the side of the motor housing. See attached pictures. The blower I removed from the car was covered in foam, a molded rubber covering, presumably as a muffler. This cover did not fit the new fan even after I ripped out most of the foam. When I tried to put it on the new blower body the screw holes didn't line up so I decided not to use the rubber cap. For this reason I lowered my rating by one star. Replacing the fan wasn't a big deal. I removed the glove box (6 Phillips screws), the metal rod holding the glove box (4 Phillips screws), the inner plastic liner under the fan (a plastic fastener) and removed the bottom nut that was attached to the underside of the dash to the car. To unscrew the fan, you have to slightly deform the dashboard. The glove box as well as some electrical wiring for the light and light switch that will need to be addressed before removing it completely. The fan's rubber cover is secured with three 8mm Phillips screws, and the fan itself is secured with three more 8mm Phillips screws. All in all, the job was much easier than I expected. The fan is loud on high, but I don't know if it's really louder than the old one. I guess it's louder since I threw away the rubber muffler, but the car is 25 years old and is primarily used as an SUV, so who cares? It blows air very well.
