Review on Hassle-free Security: Introducing Hi-Lift HM-LK Hood Mount Locking Knob by Donald Phi

Didn't help - hood pins

When it arrived the key would not turn. I took it apart and found that one of the pins had come loose from the cylinder. Back to the place, the lock earned. Make no mistake, this lock is poorly designed and built. It actually comes with a warning to be careful with it. This is not typical of Hi-Lift. All of the other Hi-Lift products I own are great. Find another way to block the Hi-Lift Jack. Update - I loosely locked the lock as suggested. After a few months the threads rusted a bit. I was able to remove it by unlatching it, gently squeezing the large channel latch and slowly twisting it. After about a quarter turn with the channel lock, it broke free of the corrosion and came loose from the hand. I thought of oiling the threads and reinstalling it on my jeep. In the end I decided it was nothing but trouble so I threw it away and replaced it with a cord and padlock.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
