One important thing to note when using this charger: After it completes the bulk and absorption charge phases and enters the float or "finish" -phase occurs, it will not see or compensate for any load or other causes of voltage sags that your battery might have. In other words, after these initial stages of charging are complete, the battery may be completely discharged, and the supposedly "fully automatic" logic in this charger will not see this, apply additional charging, or otherwise compensate or protect the battery in any way. It just keeps applying the tiny floating point input and expects that to eventually complete its loop. Out of curiosity, I discharged the deep cycle battery to 50% state of charge while the charger was in this mode, but it knew nothing and didn't try to respond. This makes it much less useful and unprotective for applications where the battery being serviced may be under load that doesn't fit the logic of the charger (RV's, alternative energy source batteries, etc.) as the device simply doesn't consider it such an opportunity. .
