Review on 🌊 BLACK & DECKER BPWM09W Compact Portable Washer by Josh Schaefer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Living in an apartment changes the rules of the game

I love this car! I've been renting for about 20 years, move every 1-2 years for work. This means that you have to constantly deal with different laundry situations everywhere. Carrying you up and down the stairs, using cars that are in terrible shape, paying for laundry, or just doing it all yourself in the bathroom. I got this B&D washing machine after moving to the (different) 3rd floor with the washing machines in the basement. . I finally reached my limit and decided I couldn't carry heavy laundry up all those stairs anymore. After researching brands and types of portable washing machines online, I settled on this one based on positive reviews and because it seemed more durable and better quality than some other cheaper machines. Basically, this washing machine is similar to a conventional washing machine. except that it's smaller and uses a sink as a connection. It has multiple cycles (love the 19 minute quick cycle!) and it wrings everything out at the end so it dries quicker than if I hand wash it myself. It says to only use cold water, which was fine for cleaning my stuff. You can easily use warm/hot water instead, but the directions say it can damage machine parts so I wasn't worried about that. She's pretty heavy. The wheels made it easy to maneuver around my apartment, but when the box was delivered I had to haul it up the stairs by myself. Based on other reviews I thought it would be easier to physically carry it around but later realized that the wheels help you move it which is true but it's quite a heavy piece of equipment that comes in a big box if you do carry it up alone. I haven't had any leakage issues at all. And judging by the build of the machine I don't really understand how it can leak, it's actually just a smaller version of a normal washing machine. BUT you need to be sure that the hose is screwed tightly into the faucet. For example, when I was using it once, the hose came off the sink (absolutely my fault, haven't figured out how to connect it yet) so the water only flowed into the sink for a couple of minutes before I realized what has happened. And you should have a sink with a good drain. If your sink is clogged or the drain is running very slowly, your sink may overflow while the washing machine is draining water. I waited about a month until I had the washing machine to write a review just to make sure I actually tested it. and I LOVE THIS CAR! I'm no longer afraid of washing. This is an easy weekend job, I make a few batches and then hang it all up to dry. I live in a humid climate so it takes about a day to dry. It's still a big improvement after years of renting without a washing machine in my house. When you receive the machine there is this plastic plate and 2 screws for you to attach the plate to the bottom of the machine. I could never figure out where the screws go, the instructions weren't very helpful. So I just slipped the plate onto the bottom of the machine with no screws, it didn't seem important to the operation of the machine itself. So far I haven't noticed any problems.
